Service Description

Horse Science is the Key Stage Three (lower secondary) science curriculum taught through the lens of horses.  Clearly, the biology part is pretty simple as we relate that to horses and humans, but my eldest (studying physics at uni) said,  “But how will you teach electricity?!” “Electric fences.” “But momentum?” “Falling off.” “Ok, but how about pressure?” “Saddles.” “Levers?!” “Bits.” “Ah! Specific heat capacity?!” “Strictly speaking, that’s not KS3 but actually GCSE, but I have an introduction to it in rugging…” “Hmpf – you’ve thought of everything.” “Not quite, but I have tack cleaning and fire safety for chemistry and field management for soils and pH, so I can cover most topics.” I try to interweave the topics so that there is not too much chemistry and physics in one go, but the idea behind the course is that it should leave students with a really good jumping off spot to start IGCSE Biology and a pretty good base if they wish to start the Chemistry and Physics IGCSE curriculums. Lessons are released weekly and are hosted on google classroom.  There are optional homework tasks for those who choose to do them. Lessons are £2 each.  There are 35 lessons in a year (term time only) and these can either be paid for by monthly subscription or contact me directly if you would prefer to pay the £70 upfront. You can cancel the subscription at any time, although you will then lose access to the classroom. Please note that due to the recorded lessons being available to all joiners at all times, if you join later in the year, the £70 is split between the number of remaining months. Please also ignore the 5am start for the lessons on the schedule below, those are just when the videos schedule.
